Skincare Routine

  • A daily oil massage after taking a shower nourishes the skin and gives it a natural glow. 
  • Use a few drops of oil to gently massage your body, especially the pressure points in the feet, ears, and palms. Dry massage the head. 
  • Recommended oils as per body energy:
    • vata or vata imbalance: sesame 
    • pita or pita imbalance: sunflower
    • kapha or kapha imbalance: canola  
  • If you’re unsure of your body’s energy, then use sesame oil. Always remember to do a patch test on the elbow before applying anything new to the face or body.
  • Keep yourself hydrated. 

Hair care Routine

  • Avoid washing your hair often. Try to follow a once-every-3-4 days hair wash cycle. Use cold water to wash your hair. 
  • Do a weekly head massage with oil. Apply mild pressure on the scalp for a minimum of 15 minutes. Neelibhrigandi oil aids hair growth. 
  • You can follow up the oil massage with a dry scrub massage. Use a herbal powder for it. 
  • After oiling and scrubbing, apply a herbal hair mask (amla and shikakai are beneficial) and wash with a translucent shampoo (use sulfate and chemical-free products). 
  • Do not expose your hair to direct, harsh sun. Cover with a light scarf. Also, avoid using hot water for hair wash. 
  • Do not sleep with wet hair. 
  • Try to include amla (Indian gooseberry) in your diet.
