Barcelona summers need no introduction! Beach, bougainvillea, bars, musicians on every second block, there’s such a happy vibe in the city that you just can’t be in a bad, or sad mood for long.

To add to this summer happiness, there are mangoes, melons, pineapple, peaches, cherries, and strawberries! I’ve been having cherry-berry breakfast, melon lunches and still can’t get enough of these seasonal delights.

One of our favorite smoothies these days is this tropical bowl of absolute yum! This quick, easy, refreshing, healthy smoothie is definitely one of the best ways to start the mornings. Try it for yourself and have a great week ahead!

Enjoy the steps!

Ingredients

  • 1 medium-sized ripe banana, peeled, sliced, and frozen
  • 1/2 medium-sized mango, cut in small chunks, and frozen
  • 1/4 pineapple, cut in small chunks & frozen (or 6 round canned slices)
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • Toppings: strawberries, kiwi, cherries, puffed quinoa

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to a high-power blender & blend until smooth. Pour in a glass, sit down in the nice corner of your house and relish every sip.
  2. To make a smoothie bowl, pour the smoothie in a bowl, and add the toppings. Again, find a nice corner and dig in without sharing, hehe!

Tips:

  • This is a vegan smoothie. Ayurveda also suggests that we should not mix dairy and fresh fruits. However, you can use your choice of milk.
  • Remember to freeze the fruits in advance, especially if you wish to make a smoothie bowl.
  • You can use the sweetener of your choice: dates, honey, brown sugar and adjust as per taste. Please note that honey is not considered vegan.
  • Choose additional toppings of your choice: fruits, nuts, seeds, muesli, or granola.
